Spring Fever in the Garden is a “Rain or Shine” event. This means we will be on Plant St. for the festival both Saturday and Sunday. There is no rain date or do over. The festival will be up and running.

The Bloom & Grow Garden Society of West Orange County will hold its 22nd
annual Spring Fever in the Garden festival in Downtown Winter Garden. Plant Street will be filled with the quintessential homage to spring and gardening.
We invite you experience it first hand by strolling Plant Street to take in all the festival has to offer.
This festival is set in charming, historic downtown Winter Garden, with its brick lined streets, quaint shops, great restaurants, a splash pad for the kids, the city clock tower, lush hanging flower baskets, a vine covered gazebo area with a fountain offers a calming respite from the festival activity. Be sure to see Flora, our copper Monarch sculpture in Butterfly Park. Come join us for a wonderful ode to spring!

We will have booths and activities geared to children with fun ways to learn about nature and the environment. There’s free entertainment located in front of city hall and Woodland Street. We provide a tent and chairs for you to enjoy area musicians and singers. In previous years, we’ve had jazz bands, dance groups, and a variety of singers performing pop, easy listening, folk music, opera and more.

Artists of all ages are invited to participate in our sidewalk chalk art contest. On Saturday morning, the tents go up in front of city hall and you can watch the artists bring the cement squares to life with nature related chalk art. $2000 in prizes will be awarded in numerous categories such as adult, individual elementary, middle and high school student, elementary, middle and high school group, $450 for people’s choice and $750 for best overall.

The Ask the Expert booth is your chance to get your questions answered on a variety of topics from some of the best horticulturists and nursery people in the Central Florida area. For those who just moved from a northern climate, this is your chance to get educated in the Florida growing seasons. Are you planning a Monarch or pollinator garden? Come on down. $536,000.00
in charitable donations has been made to the West Orange community.
All proceeds
from the festival go to spread the love of gardening and nature in many ways like yearly scholarships to students in environmental and horticultural studies at the University of Florida and Valencia College.
This year Financial support for various planting and education projects goes to the Oakland Nature Center, Nehrling Gardens, West Orange Habitat for Humanity and Ocoee High School.
We support school gardens at local elementary and middle schools. Plus, our sweat equity is visible at projects like the Butterfly Garden at the West Orange Trail, meditation garden at Heath Central Park and a sensory garden at the United Cerebral Palsy West Orange Campus, to name a few.

The Avian Reconditioning Center
The Avian Reconditioning Center which specializes in raptor reconditioning and education will be at its same spot near the corner of Lakeview and Plant Street You can view owls and raptors up close and learn to appreciate Florida’s magnificent birds of prey and the natural habitats in which they live. The birds and their handlers will be there from 11 am to 2 pm on Saturday and Sunday to answer questions.
